Is Bongino on His Way Out After Epstein Clash?

Traditionally, the FBI deputy director manages day-to-day operations, but it remains unclear how Bailey and Bongino will divide those responsibilities.

Bongino, once appointed as the FBI’s sole deputy director earlier this year, reportedly isolated himself from bureau operations after the Epstein files dispute. MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow suggested the new arrangement signals Bongino is being “quietly managed out,” while Democratic strategist Max Burns claimed the White House is unhappy with his performance.

So far, Bongino has remained tight-lipped — only posting a brief “Welcome 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸” on social media after Bailey’s appointment.

The White House has not confirmed any move to remove him, but insiders note the co-deputy director announcement is “unlike anything the FBI has ever done before.” With the agency already under political pressure, this unusual power-sharing experiment may be the clearest sign yet of deeper fractures inside the bureau.
