Jordan Chiles Earns Perfect 10s as “DWTS” Fans React to Emotional Goodbye on Wicked Night
Following Whitney Leavitt’s upbeat performance, Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles and partner Ezra Sosa took the stage with a moving Rumba to “For Good,” closing out Dancing with the Stars’ Wicked Night with elegance and emotion.
Their performance captivated both the audience and the judges. Bruno Tonioli described it as “breathtaking,” while Carrie Ann Inaba called it “pure perfection” and her favorite night of the season. Derek Hough praised its visual beauty and technical control, adding, “When we say be more grounded, that’s what we’re talking about. Now I want to see the emotions more.” Director Jon M. Chu highlighted Chiles’ drive, comparing her focus to the determination he saw during her Olympic routines. The pair’s stunning performance earned them their first perfect 10s, tying them with Leavitt and Ballas for the night’s top score.
But the evening’s triumphs were followed by heartbreak. After combining votes from both Dedication Night and Wicked Night, Scott Hoying and Rylee Arnold were eliminated. The duo had performed a Contemporary dance to “The Wizard and I,” earning praise for creativity and emotion, but ultimately fell short in total points.
Reflecting on his exit, Hoying said, “Rylee is my favorite person ever. I had so much fun. I learned so much. And it’s Wicked Night — that’s a perfect way to go.” Arnold tearfully responded, “I’m so proud of you. You did amazing this season. And I couldn’t have asked for a better partner and I love you.”
The updated leaderboard placed Leavitt and Ballas at the top with 39 out of 40, narrowly ahead of Chiles and Sosa, who matched the same score but trailed slightly in combined totals. Robert Irwin and Witney Carson followed closely behind with 36 out of 40, while Danielle Fishel and Pasha Pashkov impressed with steady improvement.
As the curtain fell on Wicked Night, fans were left divided — some celebrating the talent and creativity on display, others questioning the fairness of the scoring. Still, one thing was clear: DWTS Season 34 continues to captivate, surprise, and stir emotion — proving that even after nearly two decades, the ballroom remains as unpredictable as ever.
