Chuck Schumer Humiliated After Fellow Dems Erupt in ‘Open Mutiny’

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) is struggling to keep his party united as the government teeters on the brink of a shutdown.
Privately, Schumer suggested a short-term funding measure to prevent a shutdown and buy time for negotiations with Republicans and President Trump. Publicly, however, he condemned the same plan, calling it inadequate — sparking outrage among progressive Democrats.
Texas Rep. Greg Casar, leader of the House Progressive Caucus, posted on X:
“Hell no. We don’t need a delay and a pinky promise — we need a deal that keeps the government open and saves health care for Americans.”
The far-left wing of the party refuses to accept anything less than a fully funded package, creating an open mutiny that threatens Schumer’s authority.
